Working together to improve fire safety
A robust Fire Safety Policy demonstrates to your employees, contractors, visitors and clients that you’re committed to preventing, or minimising the risk of fire within your premises
A sound Fire Safety Policy should demonstrate your commitment to the health, safety and welfare of all those on your premises and should ensures compliance with The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, to manage fire risk.
The policy should begin with the aims and objectives of the Fire Policy with statements of intent and (from the top) the management’s commitment to the implementation, by ensuring that suitable resources are allocated and there’s effective communication and training provided.
The Fire Safety Policy Document should clearly identify the roles and responsibilities relating to fire and identify those who have additional responsibilities; those with fire safety responsibilities should be familiar with the contents of the Fire Safety Policy and associated documentation.
Having define roles and responsibilities, which are clearly communicated is key to ensuring that your Fire Safety Policy is effective.
